MANAGING EVENTS, SPACES AND DESTINATIONS ALSO WITH DIGITAL SOLUTIONS

The two-year course aims to provide all necessary skills in the following areas:

Organisation of events and shows
Management of conference and trade fair spaces
Communication, marketing and sponsorships
Destination and event management
Services and technologies for the trade fair and conferencing sector
ITS Tourism aims to train its people to be:

  • Experts in digital marketing and communication for event promotion;

  • Experts in technologies for welcoming and involving the public (virtual and augmented reality, etc.);

  • Technicians for the organisational and logistics management of trade fair, conferencing and cultural spaces;

  • Experts in the sustainable management of large events (sport, music, etc,);

  • Specialists in the use of international broadcasting technologies (streaming, etc.) of events;

  • Support technicians to agencies and associations organising events and for sponsorship.

Programme

The course covers 1,800 total hours, spread over two years and broken down as follows:

60% of the hours is dedicated to Laboratories and Project Work (classroom lessons, practical simulations, testimonies, seminars, study and business visits, etc.) held by industry professionals;

40% of the hours is dedicated to internships in companies and qualified institutions in the Veneto area which may be extended to national and international level thanks to the Erasmus+ project and the partnership with HOSCO.

Lessons are held from Monday to Friday, with a total of 28 hours per week on average.
Attendance is mandatory for at least 80% of the total hours.

Access methods

Pre-enrolment

Participation in selections through an entrance exam consisting of:

  • aptitude test in general and tourism culture, IT, and English language;
  • motivational interview, also in English;
  • assessment of CV.

Final tests and qualifications

If a positive evaluation has been achieved during the course, at the end of the course itself, a final examination with written and oral tests will be taken.
Upon passing the final test, the Higher Technical (Tecnico superiore) state diploma is issued, a qualification corresponding to level 5 of the European Qualification Framework (EQF).

During the course, graduates are issued certificates on

  • occupational safety
  • first aid
  • the optional certificate known as TOEIC, Test of English for International Communication by ETS English Testing Service.

Career opportunities

The postgraduate course aims to provide all skills needed to produce professionals with cross-sectional skills, capable of operating in event organisation, management and promotion in the various industry areas.

There are job opportunities in contexts such as:

  • Event spaces: trade shows, conference centres, hotels and specialist locations
  • Event organising bodies: opera foundations, theatres, cultural and sporting associations
  • Organisations for the management of events and shows: cultural festivals, sporting events, food and wine fairs
  • Territorial conventions bureau: promotion and management of business and tourism events
  • Service companies for the sector: hospitality, communication, technologies, logistics, translation
