The course comprises a total of 1,800 hours spread over two years and broken down as follows:
60% of the hours are spent on Workshops and Project Work (classroom lessons, practical simulations, testimonials, seminars, study and company visits, etc.) run by industry professionals,
40% of the hours are spent on company internships which take place in qualified businesses and institutions in the Veneto region with the possibility of being extended nationally and internationally through the Erasmus+ project and the link with Hosco.
Lessons are held from Monday to Friday for an average total of 28 hours per week.
Attendance is mandatory for at least 80% of the total hours.
Participation in selections through an entrance exam consisting of:
aptitude test in general and tourism culture, IT, and English language;
motivational interview, also in English;
assessment of CV.
Final examinations and qualifications
At the end of the course, if a positive assessment has been achieved in the ongoing evaluations, a final examination is taken with written and oral tests.
If students pass the final examination, they receive the Higher Technical State Diploma, a qualification corresponding to level5 of the European Qualification Framework (EQF).
During the course, students are also issued with:
occupational safety certificates,
IATA training certificate for airline reservations, obviously subject to attending and passing the tests,
TOEIC, an optional certificate for the Test of English for International Communication by ETS English Testing Service.
ITS Turismo aims to train specialists who are able:
to support and handle management in accommodation businesses,
to be responsible for hospitality,
to deal with cross-sectional business activities linked to marketing and sales, bookings and back office;
to manage operations in the travel agency sector (traditional and online) and organise tourism trips and events.
ITS Turismo graduates quickly become valuable assets in tourism companies due to their knowledge of management and communication tools linked to new technologies and their mastery of languages, obtained both in the classroom and through contacts with companies.
Recent statistics show that the employment rate of ITS Academy Turismo graduates – one year after completing the course – is more than 90%.
